July 2013 Glossybox

Yay! I’ve been really excited to see what i got in this month’s glossybox and i was really pleased with what i got! I have already used every single item and i only recieved it yesterday! I think it fits the theme very well and i love the seaside looking box. I’m using it to store my sun creams and after sun care etc.

On to the items!

Sleek Pout Paint in Peachy Keen

RRP: £4.99

Available here: http://www.sleekmakeup.com/lips/lip-colour/pout-paint

When i initially tried this on, it seemed uber bright like something you’d see on ‘The only way is essex’ but it turned out i a) put too much on! and b) didnt mix it like it was intended. Once i mixed a small amount in with an even smaller amount of another pout paint i was able to make my own shade of lip pigment which is how these are intended to be used. I am really happy with this actually as it’s so versatile and i was pleased to get a good make up brand like ‘Sleek’ as opposed to something like Collection 2000.

Sleek Pout Paint in Peekabloo

RRP: £4.99

Available here: http://www.sleekmakeup.com/lips/lip-colour/pout-paint

When i first saw this i thought ‘oh no’ who on earth is going to wear blue?! But when i read the glossybox info on it, it said that you mix it in with another colour. So as i said before i mixed it with Peachy Keen and it worked out a treat! I like the versatility of these a lot. I would recommend getting the blue or silver colour to mix in with one of the other shades otherwise they are very stark or bright.

Anatomicals Spray Misty For me Facial Spritz

RRP: £6

Available here: http://www.anatomicals.net

I was happy as this was my third full sized product so yay!  have been meaning to get one of these for ages so it was great to get one in a glossybox. It smells really nice and is very cooling in this current heat. I’ve been keeping it in my bag for when it gets really hot. There’s also a picture of Clint Eastwood on the back which amused my date last night. I will probably be using this as a summer staple!

Coola Mineral Face SPF 20 Unscented

RRP: ( full size) £29.99.

Available here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Organic-Suncare-Collection-Sunscreen-Unscented/dp/B0019H65FC/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1373816739&sr=8-6&keywords=coola+organic+sunscreen

I need a little SPF 20 for my burnt nose at the moment and this is quite a handy size…it’s 7ml so it’s not very big compared to the 50ml full size ones. Depending on how i get on with it i may get a scented full size!

Alterna Haircare Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist

RRP: ( for full size) £23 or £4.60 ( for sample size included)

Available here: http://www.lookfantastic.com/alterna-bamboo-style-boho-waves-tousled-texture-mist-125ml/10601048.html?rws=1&rcs=bhg

I tried using this…i found it was slightly sticky. It had a really nice bamboo scent too which was nice. It also made my hair a bit shinier and revitalised it quite like a bit of dry shampoo. I’m not one for hair care products but i will probably use it again.

Essie Sleek Sticks in A to Zebra

RRP: £9.99

Available here: http://www.boots.com/en/Essie-A-to-Zebra-Nail-Stickers_1293416/

I have been dying to try out some nail wraps for ages! I love Essie so i was really happy to get nail wraps by them. I loved the style i received too and put them on with the help of a very very patient and long suffering fellow who pretended to be interested and helped me cut them to size haha. I think once on correctly they look quite professional and are good for people like me who aren’t so good at nail art. Despite the price i would probably try them again. Only issue i have found is that they scuff slightly at the edge of your nails after a day or so of wear.

All in all i am VERY happy with the July box. More so than i was the June box! I am a bit bummed i didn’t get a Ciate Nail Polish but the Nail Wraps make up for it!

New Neon Collection by Lush Lacquer

As promised, i am going to show you the new collection by Lush Lacquer! Few collections get me really really excited but this one has! I can honestly say that i would wear every polish in this collection. They are beautiful and summery and of course-neon!

I won’t show you all of them, as there lots and lots but i will show you a few of them!

Image

Neon Splish Splash

The picture doesn’t do it justice- swatches are needed to really see this beauty. It would look brilliant over a light green, blue or white. This is one of the new polishes i intend to add to my collection! Nothing beats a glitter topper- and with the amount of blue polishes i have this will really liven up some of my manicures.

Image

Orange-U-Sweet

This is exactly like the previous polish but in orange…this one really does have a summery vibe and would look great over white for a pedicure. Makes me think of tropical fruit juice.

Image

Blurple

Again, this is similar to the first, However the first consists of blue and green glitters whereas this one consists of blue and purple ones- hence the name blurple!

( There was also a pink version called ‘Chicks Rule’ however i was unable to obtain a picture- see here: http://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/154620713/new-neon-chicks-rule-custom-blended-neon?ref=shop_home_active )

Born 2 b Pretty

I really like the colour of this one, i think the glitters really work in harmony with the base colour. It is a little less in your face than some of the others in this collection but still bright and beautiful!

This is only scratching the surface of the new polishes available but i think they are so gorgeous and awe inspiring that you should go check them out yourself at the Lush Lacquer store!

Here is what i’m picking up:

Splish Splash
Rosies Posies
It’s a Breeze
Neon Monster Mash
Glowsticks

If i could i would buy at least 3 more!

June GlossyBox

My first every glossybox arrived today! I am so so pleased with it! I got some gorgeous products, some stuff i will use and some i will give to my mum as a treat. I was super happy to recieve THREE full size products! Here is what i got:

Image

Figs & Rouge Coco Rose Lip Balm

RRP: £5

Available here: http://www.feelunique.com/p/Figs-and-Rouge-Coco-Rose-Lip-Balm-12.5ml

I was really happy to recieve this as i have been in dire need of a lip balm! I’ve been using the lush lip scrub in bubblegum everyday which is a great product but every time i use it my lips feel like they need a little bit of moisture so this is perfect. It’s even tinted so i don’t need to worry about gloss or lipstick. With this one product already i have recovered 50% of the price of the box! I was also very pleased about it being 100% organic. I prefer to use organic and handmade products and will always buy them before a harsh chemical filled product

Image

Helen E Waterproof Protective Lip Liner

RRP: £8

Available here: http://www.helen-e.com/cosmetics/lips/waterproof-protective-lip-liner.htm

I was a little disheartened to recieve a lip liner as i always see them as being for older women and at 19 that is certainly not me. I was also disappointed in the dark brown shade, it looks almost like a brown eyeliner. However a quick glance at the price, and the fact that it is full size soon consoled me. I would have preferred to recieve the lip crayon or a pink shade but beggars can’t be choosers! The total of my box now comes in at £13 which has already paid for the box and the shipping! However i will probably end up giving this to my mum or saving it for a christmas gift for someone.

Mini Nails Inc Nail Polish in Portobello

RRP: (rough estimate with the size and price of a full size taken into account) £5

Available here: http://www.nailsinc.com/nailpolish/portobello-polish/991/

This one i was very excited about! Yes, a full sized polish would be nice but as i have never tried nails inc before ( yes, awful, i know…) i’m happy with a mini. The colour was something i would definetely choose as i like anything bright, pastel or chock full of glitter! So yes, as a nail blogger the inclusion of a nail polish made my day! Who knows, if i really like this i might go and buy myself a few nails inc polishes! My box total is now a whopping £18, £5 over the price of the box and postage. Right on!

Organic Surge Super-Intensive Daily Moisturiser ( for dry skin)

RRP: £8.99

Available here: http://www.bathandunwind.com/organic-surge/skincare/organic-surge-super-intensive-daily-moisturiser.htm

Another full size product! Thats three in total! I was super pleased as i have now recieved two organic products! My face is extremely temperamental when it comes to face creams and moisturisers so hopefully an organic deity will whip it into submission! This is another thing i’ve been meaning to buy and would likely never spend the rrp for it so to recieve it in a glossybox is super cool! I also noted that it contains no parabens which is always a bonus!

I also recieved two 15ml Paul Mitchell samples for curly hair. My hair is straight straight straight so these will be passed over. Also, i’m not one for hair care products. So this one will also be given to my mum. It is nice that they included a salon brand and i’m very pleased with the fact that a lot of these are high end brands. I think this was money well spent so will continue with a monthly subscription. Hooray for glossybox! Hopefully next month i will get some eye make up and more nail polish. Fingers crossed.

Overall, i’d give my June box a 4/5 🙂

NEW Mango Delight By Franken Frosting!

Yesterday Franken Frosting added a lovely new polish to their store called Mango Delight. It’s a beautiful shade of orange with yellow hex glitters and appears to dry to an almost matte finish. This shade feels to me a lot like summer and is the sort of polish i would wear to the beach! It makes me think of sipping cocktails with pink neon umbrellas in the Bahamas! Here are some pictures:
